We use  several types of trackers:

2G/4G Trackers. 

These acquire their position from the global positioning system and relay this back to our server via the mobile phone network.

 These differ to normal mobile phones as they use a multi network SIM card that send data only. This gives it a very high connectively with very little loss of signal. the trackers attach to the strongest net work in area and send small packets of data.
